Overview
When the first Esports Virtual Arena (EVA) in the United States opened its doors in Flower Mound, Texas, Dallas Media Company was invited to document the moment. EVA isn’t a typical arcade or laser-tag floor, it’s a 5,400-square-foot immersive playground where every step drops players into a new world, built for both solo runs and full-squad competition.
A grand opening like this only happens once. The challenge wasn’t just to photograph a room full of people, it was to capture the feeling of stepping into something genuinely new, the rush players felt the first time they suited up, and the credibility that comes from seeing trusted creators experience it firsthand. DMC handled it as a lean, mobile, single-camera production paired with full photography coverage, designed to move at the speed of the room.
The Brief
EVA was launching a category-defining venue with no local frame of reference nothing in the market looked quite like it. That made the launch content do double duty: it had to explain the experience to people who had never seen anything like it, and sell the energy of being inside it.
The coverage needed to deliver three things:
- Proof of experience – real influencers and creators playing the arena, reacting in the moment, lending their audiences a credible first look.
- Authentic testimonials – on-site, in-the-moment reactions captured right after play, across both the competitive and non-competitive experiences.
- A visual library – photography and behind-the-scenes footage the EVA team could carry into launch marketing, social channels, and ongoing brand storytelling.
The Approach
DMC ran the day as a single-camera, run-and-gun production a deliberate choice for an environment this active. A nimble, one-operator footprint meant we could follow the energy from zone to zone without breaking the room’s momentum, staying close to the action as players moved through the space rather than staging it from a distance.
Capturing the experience, not just the event. The arena is built around movement and immersion, so the coverage was built the same way. We shot players mid-run the moments of focus, the squad coordination, the genuine reactions when a world opened up around them rather than posed setups that would have flattened what makes EVA different.
Influencer-forward, audience-credible. Filming creators inside the arena gave the launch instant social reach and third-party credibility. Audiences got to see people they already trust experience the venue for the first time, which is far more persuasive than any product description of a space this novel.
Testimonials with the feeling still fresh. We captured on-site testimonials immediately after play, while the adrenaline was still up covering both the competitive challenge and the more casual, non-competitive side so the content spoke to serious players and curious first-timers alike.
Why It Worked
A launch this novel lives or dies on whether the content makes people feel the experience before they’ve had it. By staying mobile and capturing real reactions in real time from creators and first-time players alike Dallas Media Co. gave EVA a launch package that did more than mark the occasion. It translated a brand-new concept into something an audience could understand, trust, and want to try.
This is also squarely in DMC’s wheelhouse. With a background rooted in esports and competitive gaming production, we read the room the pacing, the energy, the moments worth catching the way someone who’s lived in this space does, not as outsiders documenting it.
The Takeaway
EVA needed launch content that could carry a first-of-its-kind experience to an audience that had never seen anything like it. Dallas Media Company delivered a complete visual launch package i.e. photography, behind-the-scenes video, influencer coverage, and authentic testimonials captured with the speed and instinct the moment demanded.
