Dallas Media Company covers a training session where a top-producing agent broke down the exact system behind his growth to nearly 32,000 Instagram followers and over 16,000 on TikTok.
The Assignment
STASH Realty Group brought Dallas Media Company in to document a training session built around a single idea. Video is the fastest way for an agent to earn attention right now, and short-form is where that attention lives. The session put Amanuel Assefa in front of the room to walk agents through the exact system he used to grow his following from nothing to a real lead source, without spending a dollar on ads.
Matthew Soto co-hosted the session, framing Amanuel’s system with his own take on content strategy and drawing out the details agents in the room needed most. DMC covered the session start to finish, capturing the walkthrough, the live editing demo, and the Q&A that followed.
What the Session Covered
Amanuel broke his approach into three parts: recording, account setup, and editing and posting.
Recording. He shoots 4K at 60 frames per second on his phone using the native camera app instead of a gimbal-branded app, since Instagram compresses everything down to 30fps anyway and the native app gives him a cleaner grid for framing. He warned agents to pull footage straight off the phone rather than through iCloud or a drone’s cache file, since both routes quietly downgrade quality before a single edit happens.
Account setup. He runs a creator or business account so he can track insights, add a link in bio, and see which content pulls in non-follower reach. He flagged a few settings agents skip: turning on sharing and reuse so others can restitch content, enabling location services so local searches surface the account, and setting uploads to highest quality so a weak signal does not quietly compress a post.
Editing and posting. He edits inside the Instagram app itself, picking sounds that have between 10,000 and 100,000 uses rather than anything already saturated at a million-plus. He cuts clips to the beat, keeps text bold and minimal, and holds back details like exact location or price so viewers have a reason to comment and ask. He posts once a day minimum and has done so consistently for the past year, batching content by scouting neighborhoods with multiple builders so one day of filming covers a full week of posts.
The Numbers Behind the System
Amanuel pulled up his own dashboard live for the room. Over a recent 30-day window he logged almost 172,000 views across all his content, over 10,000 interactions, almost 300 new followers, and 39 shares. Ninety-six percent of that output is Reels, with very little going to Stories or static posts.
He also walked through how leads move from a comment to his CRM. He integrates Calendly with Lofty, so anyone who books through his bio link lands directly in his pipeline, already screened by a short questionnaire on price point and property type before he ever picks up the phone.
Key Takeaways for Attendees
- Pick one niche and one price point and stay in it, so the algorithm and the audience both know what an account is for.
- Original, uncompressed footage matters more than expensive gear. A phone and a gimbal are enough to start.
- Consistency beats intensity. A year of daily posting built the following, not paid promotion.
- Content can be repurposed. Reworking an older clip with a shorter cut and a new sound keeps a posting streak alive without new footage.
