Session: Track B. Scaling Fee-Builder Success in Build-to-Rent
DMC Role: Keynote panel recording
The Brief
Yovonne Kenny was selected by IMN to moderate a Track B panel on scaling fee-builder success in Build-to-Rent. The room was full of fee builders, developers, and capital partners. The stakes were simple. Give them something more useful than talking points.
Our job was to record the session so Yovonne would have footage that shows what she brings to a stage.

The Panel
Five operators with decades of combined experience across the Southeast, Southwest, and Texas:
- Jason Esposito, CEO, CenterPark Group (Charleston, SC)
- Jim Chapman, Builder and Developer (Atlanta, GA)
- Whit Marshall, [Lasser Development Group. Confirm spelling] (Atlanta, GA)
- Zani Patasin, VP of Fee Build Operations, [ResiBuilt. Confirm], now part of Invitation Homes
- Lance Keller, Owner, Lifestyle Homes (Scottsdale, AZ)
The Conversation
Yovonne opened by warning the room this would not be a boring panel. She meant it. She polled the audience by role, called on the quiet panelists, and pulled live questions from the crowd.
The discussion covered real ground:
- Building trust with development and capital partners
- Why pre-development decides whether a deal goes well
- Using AI in estimating and rethinking value engineering
- How Build-to-Rent differs from build-to-sell
- Handling tariffs and cost uncertainty
Moments That Landed
“Nobody shows up and says, we bought a piece of land, we put millions in the ground, but we forgot a builder.”
Zani Patasin
“Transparency, communication, and solutions. Don’t just come to people with problems.”
Lance Keller
“If a tool does not improve cost, quality, schedule, or predictability, what is it really doing for us?”
Yovonne Kenny
“It’s not my product. It’s yours. We are all in the service industry now.”
Jim Chapman
What We Delivered
A full recording of the 45-minute keynote panel, captured on-site at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
The Result
Yovonne now has a complete record of the session that shows her in her element. Prepared. Quick on her feet. Able to get five experienced operators to speak candidly in front of their peers.
In her own words, the goal was a conversation with “enough room to challenge one another while still learning from each other.” That’s what we captured.
Have a keynote, panel, or speaking engagement coming up? Let’s make sure it lives beyond the room.
