Overview
Sean delivered same-day partnership photography for the Call of Duty League at DreamHack Atlanta. That work earned a callback for the biggest stage of the season: the Call of Duty League Championship in Las Vegas. The Atlanta engagement had proven the model. One vendor could operate solo on a live floor and turn imagery around while the event was still hot. For Championship weekend, the Partnerships team wanted that same reliability at a larger scale.
This time, Sean didn’t just meet the brief. It went above and beyond. The focus was on the key highlight moments that partners, the league, and fans all wanted to see. The result was a set of publish-ready assets that landed the marquee moments and kept the partnership side happy.

“Whatever you did in Atlanta, the partnership team wants you at every event moving forward.”
– Brett Shumway, Director of Content
The Brief
The CDL Championship is the season’s headline event. The stakes are higher and the audience is larger. Partner activations carry more weight because more eyes are on them. Imagery from Champs weekend isn’t just documentation. It’s the visual record partners point to when they measure the season’s value.
Building on the Atlanta engagement, the Partnerships team needed a photographer who could:
- Deliver the same trusted, self-directed coverage that worked at DreamHack Atlanta
- Elevate the scope for a championship-caliber event
- Capture the key highlight moments – the peaks that make the weekend
- Maintain the same-day turnaround that made the imagery useful in real time
- Provide assets ready for both partner social media and internal documentation
The rebooking itself was the brief: do what you did in Atlanta, on a bigger stage, and hit the moments that matter.
The Approach
Repeat trust, turnkey again
Sean had already earned the Partnerships team’s confidence in Atlanta. That meant the Las Vegas engagement started from trust. DMC again ran the full pipeline as a single-vendor, turnkey solution: planning, capture, on-site editing, and delivery. The league’s staff carried zero production overhead during their busiest weekend of the year.
Going above and beyond on the highlights
The step-up for Championship weekend was intentional. Rather than simply covering activations, Sean prioritized the key highlight moments – the peaks partners, the league, and fans all wanted to relive. Coverage spanned activations for Monster Energy, SCUF Gaming, the U.S. Navy, and PlayerX. That meant anticipating the biggest beats of Champs and positioning ahead of them. The defining images of the weekend were captured cleanly and delivered fast.

“This photo is amazing. Give the photographer a pat on the back.”
– Shawn Buell, Senior Director, Game Partnerships at ESL FACEIT Group
Same-day pipeline, championship scale
The same rapid cull-and-edit workflow from Atlanta carried over. Color-corrected, platform-formatted selects went to the Partnerships team in batches throughout the event, not after teardown. On a finale weekend, relevance windows are measured in hours. That same-day muscle is what keeps partner content timely.
Built for both audiences
Every batch was prepared for its destination. Social-ready selects were sized and toned for partner channels. A parallel set was organized for internal documentation and post-event reporting. Partnerships got polished assets for the public push and clean records for their own reviews.
