FAQ
QUESTIONS WE HEAR OFTEN
Common questions from teams, orgs, and brands looking at esports and sports content. Don’t see yours?
What kinds of esports and sports orgs do you typically work with?
Anything from individual streamers and competitive teams to leagues, sponsors, and traditional sports programs. We work with established orgs (where we came from at Complexity Gaming), but we also love new teams figuring out their identity and brands trying to enter the space well. If you’re not sure whether your project fits, the easiest answer is to send us a quick note — we’ll tell you honestly if we’re the right team for it.
Can you cover live tournaments and events on-site?
Yes. Live tournament coverage is one of our core categories — multi-cam capture, talent interviews, B-roll, and same-day highlight delivery. We scale crew up or down depending on the format and number of stages, and we’ve covered everything from single-stage invitationals to multi-day events. Out-of-DFW travel is fine — we’ll quote it transparently in the project agreement.
Do you actually understand the games and sports you’re shooting?
Yes — and we think this is a bigger deal than most studios admit. Sean came up in competitive gaming media at Complexity, directed a full CS:GO documentary series (Through The Smoke), and was nominated for Esports Videographer of the Year in 2019 by the Esports Awards. For traditional sports, we lean on the same instincts — read the play, capture the moment, cut for the story rather than the chronology.
What’s your turnaround time on tournament coverage?
Same-day or next-day highlight reels are standard for tournament coverage — usually a 60–90 second hero cut plus 3–5 vertical social cuts ready to push to owned channels before the audience moves on. Longer-form recaps and documentary edits run on agreed milestones in the project agreement.
Can you produce both broadcast-quality and social-ready content from the same shoot?
That’s actually how we design the shoot. We plan around finished deliverable formats — horizontal hero cuts, vertical social, broadcast-graded recap — so the same capture session works for multiple destinations. It’s more efficient and it keeps the visual identity consistent across every place your audience sees the content.
Do you handle athlete and talent releases?
For our own roster talent, yes — we manage the releases and rights cleanly. For your team or your existing athletes, we’ll work off your team’s standard release templates or coordinate with your legal/manager workflows. We won’t shoot identifiable talent without proper clearance, so we’ll flag anything that needs to be sorted before the camera rolls.
Can you produce content that works for sponsor packages?
Yes — sponsor integration is a regular part of the work, especially on tournament coverage, athlete profiles, and recap films. We’ll design shot lists and edit beats around sponsor placement requirements without sacrificing the underlying storytelling, and we can produce sponsor-specific cuts alongside the main deliverables.
How do we start a project with you?
Send a quick note through the contact form with the basics — what you’re producing, when you need it, who it’s for, and any reference work that inspired the direction. We’ll respond within 24 hours with a quote, a timeline, and a brief creative direction. From there, signed agreement, deposit, and we’re on calendar.
